Auto-parse resumes and create candidate pages in Notion

Auto-parse resumes and create candidate pages in Notion

Introduction

Turn any resume link into a structured Notion candidate record in minutes ✅

Trigger Event

A webhook receives a new resume URL (PDF/DOC/DOCX). This can come from your careers page form, chatbot, or an email parser.

Actions

  • The workflow sends the resume link to MagicalAPI to parse the candidate’s details (name, email, phone, education, majors, skills, summary, and more).
  • It then waits briefly so the parsing can finish reliably.
  • Next, it checks the request status and fetches the parsed data (using the request_id from the first step).
  • Finally, it creates a new page in your chosen Notion database, filling properties like Name, Email, Phone, University, Majors, Skills, Summary, and storing the original Resume URL.

Benefits

  • Save manual data entry time for every applicant
  • Fewer copy-paste errors; consistent fields in Notion
  • Faster screening with structured profiles
  • Works with common resume formats and scales with volume
  • Keeps your ATS or hiring tracker in Notion always up to date
