Getting Started - Shopify

Shopify and viaSocket connect to automate your store. You can trigger actions when new orders or customers are added and create customers or update products.

Prerequisites

To use the Shopify app on viaSocket, you must have:

#

Connect Shopify to viaSocket

To create an app connection to Shopify on viaSocket:

  • Go to the Apps page.

  • Click Connect to Shopify.

  • Go to Connections → Connect New App

  • A new dialog box will appear. Search for and select Shopify.

  • Click Add connection.

  • A new browser tab or window will open.

  • A Connect an Account page will open in a browser tab or window.

  • In the Account field, enter your Shopify username.

    • For example, if your store's URL is https://admin.shopify.com/store/parcelpanel/, then parcelpanel is your username.

  • Click Yes, Continue to Shopify.

  • Log into Shopify to authenticate.

  • Grant viaSocket permission to access your account if prompted to.

Your Shopify account is now successfully connected to viaSocket.

Limitations

  • API rate limits apply. REST Admin API supports a limit of 40 requests per app per store per minute (increased to 400 for Shopify Plus stores), which can impact automation frequency.

  • Input arguments that accept an array have a maximum size of 250 items for all APIs.

  • Resource-based rate limits apply. After reaching 50,000 product variants, stores are limited to creating only 1,000 new variants per day (this doesn't apply to Shopify Plus stores).
